Sandstone Sculptures on Gabriola Island Location: The Gulf Islands, in the Strait of Georgia, British Columbia Glaciations and erosion of Gabriola’s hard sandstone and soft shale geology are responsible for the dramatic cliffs, points, bays and stone formations enjoyed by Gabriolans.This section of shoreline includes a granite boulder left behind from the last ice age.
