The Bird Rocks at Chapman Point are Sea Stacks that originated from lava flows over 17 million years ago. A dense colony of Common Murres nest there from spring through midsummer. Common Murres are relatively protected with their nests perched high on the Sea Stacks except of course for the Bald Eagles that prey on the nesting colony.
